Here at Appointedd we are currently working hard to release a new feature called dynamic communications. Dynamic communications lets you customise the entire content of your emails by adding variables within HTML content, and plain text for SMS. You will also be able to create different language specific templates that the recipient will receive based on their locale. e.g. English, Spanish etc.

How to use dynamic communications for transactional emails

  • Click on the communications tab and either select email confirmations or SMS confirmations. For this example we will select email confirmations.

  • Select edit text on the email that you would like to customise

  • Toggle advanced emails on to use dynamic communications

  • If you wish to create your email in another language please select add another language for this email content. A dialog will display containing available languages which can be selected.

  • You can now enter your custom content into the code editor, using Liquid syntax. Variables can be included in the content (for example the customers first name), by either selecting the variable from the Insert variable dropdown on the top right, or by keying them into the editor directly.

  • If you want to save your work to continue editing later, you can do so by toggling off advanced emails.

  • If you're happy with the content, you can publish it by selecting save and publish.

  • You will then be asked if you would like to send a test email to check you are happy with how it looks.

How to use dynamic communications for reminders and follow ups

Customising content for reminders and follow ups works in a very similar way to transactional emails and SMS.

  1. Click on the communications tab and select reminders and follow ups.

  2. Click create or edit an existing reminder or follow up by selecting the pencil icon.

  3. To turn on dynamic communications, toggle advanced emails on.

  4. The content can then be modified in the same way as described in the transactional email/SMS section above.

How does Appointedd know which language to send?

A customer's language is detected when they select their preferred language from a drop down list on your booking tools. If a customer has selected a language which you haven't set up a template for, the default template will send. You can select a language to be the default at the bottom of the code editor.

This feature has not yet been released, but if you have any questions on how it will work for you please don't hesitate to get in touch via our 24/7 messenger.

If you have any feedback we would love to hear it 👂
