How Can Customers Make Multi-Service Bookings on Appointedd?
Appointedd offers multiple ways for businesses to create booking scenarios where customers can schedule multiple services or treatments in one session. These methods cater to different requirements and constraints. Below, we explain the two primary approaches: multi-part services and the Legacy Widget.
Overview of Multi-Service Bookings
Customers can book multiple services on Appointedd through two key methods:
Using multi-part services, which allows a business to combine several sub-services into one overall booking.
Leveraging the Legacy Widget, which facilitates combining multiple treatments in one booking session. (Our new widget 2.0 does not yet offer this feature).
Each method is designed for specific use cases. Read on to determine which option best suits your needs.
Approach 1: Multi-Part Services
Multi-part services can be used to provide customers with the ability to book a combination of sub-services as a single entity. For instance, a customer could book a color treatment and a haircut as part of one overall service. However, there are limitations:
All sub-services in the multi-part setup are assigned to a single resource (e.g., stylist), so it is not possible to split services between different providers. For example, you cannot assign the color service to Stylist A and the haircut to Stylist B.
While these sub-services are visible on the business's Appointedd calendar, customers will only see the overall service as one appointment in their booking view.
Use This Method When:
A single resource (stylist, therapist, or similar) can handle all services within the booking.
It is essential to simplify the booking process, showing only one service to customers.
Approach 2: Using the Legacy Widget
The Legacy Widget is a powerful feature that enables customers to add multiple treatments into one booking flow. Here’s how it works:
Customers can select a treatment and then add additional treatments to the booking.
When adding more treatments, they are redirected to the Personal Details page. However, any initial information (e.g., name, contact details) will already be pre-filled to avoid repetitive input.
Use This Method When:
Customers need to book services with different resources (e.g., separate stylists or specialists for each service).
You aim to provide flexibility for customers to choose their providers or extend their booking sessions.
