Driving more bookings via reminders and follow ups

Use our follow-up and reminders messages to let customers know they can book additional services with you!

With Appointedd, you can reach your entire customer base efficiently with reminder and follow-up messages. This is a powerful tool to let your existing customers know they can book other services with you, and a fantastic way to remind them to book in for any repeat services!

You could recommend they book in an additional or complementary service while visiting you (in a reminder email) or send them details of upcoming availability, events or recommended services based on their previous engagement with your business.

As reminders and follow-ups are sent in relation to a booking, they are not classed as marketing so will send regardless of the customer's marketing preferences while remaining GDPR compliant.

How to set up reminders and follow-ups

You can access your reminders and follow-ups alongside all communications sent from your account, under the Email & SMS tab.

To create a new reminder or follow-up to drive more bookings, click create and follow through the steps:

  • Give the template a name: this is only for your internal reference, customers won’t see this

  • Select whether it's a reminder (to send before a booking) or a follow-up (to send after a booking)

  • Select the timeframe: how long before/after a booking the communication should send

  • Set the channel which the communication sends in: email or SMS

  • Set the send-from name, and email address for email communications

  • Select the type recipient: here, select customers

  • Select the details of bookings for which this communication should send, eg. particular service

  • Set whether you wish to bundle this communication with other messages sent

  • Set the content of the communication and subject for the emails

    • Make sure you include your booking tool links in the body of the email so your customers can easily click to book!

    • This would be your microsite link, or the URL of the page on your website where the booking tools are embedded

    • You can also hyperlink these to make the message super sleek, eg. Make a booking here - hyperlink here with the URL of your microsite, booking tool or landing page

  • Click save

Now that you’re all done, your reminder and/or follow up messages will be sent to your customers, according to the parameters you set. You can set up as many smart communications as you’d like, wether that’s relating to the same service, resource, etc. or not.

If you’d like to be able to track bookings made directly from your reminder or follow up emails, you can set up a new widget and link that in the specific emails.

Alternatively, you can create custom URLs via Google Analytics and track the data yourself to better understand the effectiveness of the emails!
