How to delete or disassociate a communication blueprint

Learn how to remove an email template from accounts while keeping existing data, or delete it permanently.

There are two ways to remove a communication blueprint, depending on what you need:

  1. Disassociate - removes the template from your accounts but preserves any existing data. Use this when you want to stop managing the template centrally but keep the underlying email setup intact in the accounts where it already exists. Learn more here.

  2. Delete - permanently removes the template and all associated data across your accounts. Use this when the template is no longer needed anywhere.

Both options are managed from the same dialog on the Email Templates page.

Step 1: Find the template

In the left-hand navigation, go to Communications and select View All Communications. Locate the template you want to remove - you can use the Search templates by name field if needed.

Step 2: Open the delete dialog

In the Actions column, click the trash icon. A Delete Email Template pop-up will appear, explaining the difference between disassociating and deleting.

Step 3: Confirm by typing the template name

In the confirmation field, type the template name exactly as shown.

Step 4: Choose Disassociate or Delete

  • Click Disassociate to remove the template from your accounts while preserving existing data.

  • Click Delete to permanently remove the template and all associated data across your accounts.

If you change your mind, click Cancel to close the dialog without making any changes.
