This feature is part of the console only.
1. Navigate to Virtual Queue Management
In the left-hand sidebar, click the Virtual Queues icon. This opens the Virtual Queue Management menu with two options:
View All - lists every virtual queue that has been created
Create - opens the form to create a new queue
2. View existing queues
Selecting View All takes you to the Virtual Queues list page.
From here you can see every queue's Name, Primary Colour, and Created date, and use the View, Edit, or Delete actions on the right.
To start a new one, click + Create in the top right.
3. Fill in the queue details
The Create Virtual Queue form asks for the following:
Field | Required? | Notes |
Name | Yes | Internal/display name for the queue, e.g. "Regent Street Queue" |
Account | Yes | The account this queue belongs to. You cannot select multiple accounts in one queue, but you can create multiple queues - a queue per store perhaps. |
Logo URL | No | Link to a logo image to brand the queue join page |
Primary Colour / Secondary Colour | No | Sets the branding colours for the queue join, status, and cancel pages. |
Font URL | No | Link to a web font (e.g. a Google Fonts CSS URL) to brand the queue pages |
Custom Fields | No | Selecting an account is what determines whether the Custom Fields section appears. Your Custom Fields are managed per account here. |
Show party size | No | Allows customers to specify the size of their group when joining |
Allow position delay | No | Allows customers to delay their position in the queue from the status page |
Click "Create Virtual Queue" to save.
4. After creation - the queue's detail page
Once created, you'll be taken back to the "View All" section. Open your queue by selecting View and you'll see a summary including your QR code, like so:
Queue URL - the shareable Queue URL you can publish and allow customers to join your queue
QR Code and Download PNG - download your QR code and publish it to allow customers to scan it with their phones and join your queue
FAQ's:
1) How do I see who has joined the queue?
Creating the queue on its own does not make it live in your calendar. You also need to switch it on under calendar features so incoming customers are visible. Check out our guide here.
2) I've deleted the queue, can I bring it back?
If you publish your QR code online, and then delete the queue, you cannot bring it back. You'll need to create the queue again and publish a new QR code.
3) I no longer want to offer a virtual queue, can I turn it off?
To turn off your queue, you can un-publish your QR code from being visible online or delete the queue.
If a customer is mid-joining when you deleted the queue = they're already in the process, so they can still join.
If the customer has not yet joined and you deleted the queue = they see a "Unable to load queue, queue not found" error when they try to join.
Please note: toggling off the virtual queue function in your calendar page does not switch off your virtual queue. It simply hides it from your calendar view.
