🧐 What is a standard service?

A service is an activity offered by a company that can be booked by customers through the Appointedd platform.

A standard service is a set duration(s) service where customers simply book a specific slot they wish to attend.

βš™οΈ Creating a new standard service

To create a standard service:

  1. Hover over the Setup tab and select Manage services from the drop down menu;

  2. Click Add service and fill in the details under each of the headings:

Basic details

In the basic details of the service you can:

  • Give the service a name that your customers will book;

  • Select an existing category to place the service into or click New category;

  • Include the location where your service will take place. The location will show in the calendar event and confirmation emails, but it won't show in the booking flow.

Type of service

In the type of service section you can set:

  • Service type - select Standard;

  • Set the maximum number of customers that can attend this service at one time;

  • Select whether multiple parties can join group bookings or not (private vs public);

  • Set a limit for maximum number of spaces a customer can book online at once;

  • Set the duration and price of the service (it's possible to have multiple service durations, too);

  • To take payments online you need to connect Appointedd to one of our payment providers. By doing so, an option called payments will appear in your services. You can choose to take full payment or a deposit and make the payment optional (if you wish).

  • To offer virtual services you need to connect Appointedd to a video conferencing system. We have a direct integration with Zoom and MS Teams, but you can still connect with other major video conferencing platforms, too. Learn more about virtual services.

Availability

In the availability section:

  • Set resource allocation rule and select which resource(s) will provide this service;

  • If the service has any specific availability that's different to the resource's working hours, turn on and adjust the service custom schedule;

  • Consider whether you need to create and assign any assets, such as if a piece of equipment or a specific room is needed;

  • Set buffer times before and after the service if required.

Online booking settings

  • Choose the permissions of the service which allows you to control how your customers book this service;

  • Set the notice period for the service and configure if/how you wish to allow customers to reschedule;

Don't forget to click Save service at the bottom.
