Learn how to get access and how to use Appointedd SMS

❗️Please note, Appointedd SMS is being deprecated, meaning that new connection are no longer available. If you currently have Appointedd SMS enabled, you will still be able to continue using it.

❗️Please also note that Appointedd SMS is not available for those businesses who wish to send texts to US numbers or UK numbers. If you wish to send texts to US or UK numbers, we recommend using Twilio integration instead.


🌍 SMS functionality overview

You can send your customers an automatic text message when they make a booking with you, when a booking is modified, cancelled, requested and declined. You can also send a reminder and follow up text to reduce no shows and promote repeat custom.

If you don't currently have Appointedd SMS feature enabled on your account, in order to send these texts, your Appointedd account needs to be connected to an SMS provider - Twilio.


🏰 The Appointedd SMS functionality

New or existing users, who do not have Appointedd SMS enabled on their accounts are no longer able to access this feature. If you've already been granted access in the past, you can access your SMS integration page by going to the Connect tab -> Connect to an SMS provider.

Please note: Appointedd SMS is not available for those businesses who wish to send texts to US numbers or UK numbers. If you wish to send texts to US or UK numbers, we recommend using Twilio instead.

In your SMS connection page, make sure you add a Send-from name which is used as the display name in texts sent on your behalf

If you wish to purchase additional SMS credits, you can do so in your Billing page.


❌ Disconnect

You can only have one SMS option connected at the time. If you'd like to utilise another SMS solution simply hit Disconnect and reconnect with Twilio (once you disconnect from Appointedd SMS you will not have any way to reconnect with it).

Please note, if you don't have an SMS provider connected to your Appointedd account, you won't be able to send SMS via Appointedd.


🖌️Adding and modifying SMS content

Once you have a connection sorted, head to the Email & SMS tab within your Appointedd account to manage the content of any automatic SMS you'd like Appointedd to send.
