How does the 'search further ahead' window work?

When testing your customer journey, you may encounter a “Search further ahead” window. This guide covers the search functionality rule that governs this behaviour.

Calendar view initial search functionality research

We have three kinds of widgets:

  1. Widget 2.0

  2. Enterprise (legacy) widget

  3. Standard (legacy) widget

We encourage all customers to move onto the new widget 2.0, since the legacy widgets will be deprecated in due course.

The way the availability is searched between these widgets is different.

Widget 2.0

This widget has a calendar view or an event view you can choose from.

Initial query

The calendar style will search for dates 42 days into the future from the 1st day of the month.

The event style will search for dates 9 months in the future from the 1st day of the month.

Search further ahead

This window will then display, asking users to search further ahead.

When searched it will look for a date across the next 6 month.s

This window will then display, asking users to search further ahead.

When searched it will look for a date across the next 9 months.

Enterprise widgets

This widget has a calendar view or an event view you can choose from. It can only be created by your Account Manager at Appointedd.

Initial query

The calendar style will search for dates in the current month only.

The event style will search for dates 3 months in the future from the 1st day of the month.

Search further ahead

This window will then display, asking users to search further ahead, month by month.

This window will then display, asking users to search further ahead.

When searched it will look for a date across the next 3 months.

Additional tricks

You can ask your Account Manager to lock the view to a specific month only.
