Check if you are using a legacy widget
Log into app.appointedd.com
Go to Booking Tools > Manage booking widgets
Check if you see a Legacy Widgets tab - if yes, click to open
Edit the widget using the pencil icon on the right-hand side
Check this widget against your website to see if this is in fact the widget you are actively using
If you are not using this widget, you can ignore this migration announcement. There is nothing you need to do.
If you are using the legacy widget, please read on:
On 11th March 2027, your legacy widget switches off for good, so now is the time to update it to Widget 2.0.
Why are we moving you to Widget 2.0?
To give you real improvements to how your customers book with you:
A sleek, mobile-first design that looks great on any device
More functionality, including service images, service descriptions, map support, and both calendar and event-list views
Better accessibility - improved colour contrast, voice-over support, keyboard navigation, and native form components
A more modern foundation, so we can ship improvements to you faster
Is there anything right now that Widget 2.0 doesn't support?
Yes, there are two things:
Facebook Business integration - Widget 2.0 does not yet support our native facebook business integration.
If your legacy widget is not displayed on Facebook or Instagram, this doesn't affect you - you can migrate today.
If it is, please hold off migrating for now. We're working to have Facebook Business integration ready on Widget 2.0 ahead of the 11th March 2027 deadline. We'll notify you as soon as it's available so you can migrate.
Multiple bookings within one transaction - Widget 2.0 does not yet support customers adding more than one booking in a single transaction. However we are re-building this feature for Widget 2.0 and making it even better. By December 2026, we will support multiple services being booked in one transaction, offering a far better customer experience.
If you can continue and migrate today, here's how:
Head to your Appointedd Hub at hub.appointedd.com
Go to System Administration > Organisations
Next to your organisation click "Microsite" and "Auto migrate to new widget"
[INSERT IMAGE OF BUTTON]
Nothing happens immediately - the change takes effect the next time one of your customers clicks to book. At that point, their booking experience updates to Widget 2.0, and we automatically create the matching Widget 2.0 for you in your back office here.
You don't need to build a new widget, and there's no code to copy and paste into your site. Just click the button, and we'll handle the rest.
FAQs
Will this affect my existing bookings?
No. Any bookings already made will be unaffected. The migration only changes the booking experience for new bookings made after you switch.
Do I need to change anything on my website?
No. If you've embedded your widget using our standard embed code, it will automatically point to your new Widget 2.0 once you migrate - there's nothing to copy or update on your site.
What happens if I don't migrate before 11th March 2027? Your legacy widget will stop working, meaning customers won't be able to book with you until you migrate to Widget 2.0.
I use Facebook/Instagram to take bookings - can I still migrate? Not if you're using your legacy widget on social media via our native Facebook Business integration. If you'd like to switch now anyway, you can copy and paste your Widget 2.0 or Microsite URL onto your social profiles instead - this works, but isn't part of the native integration. We're working to have native Facebook Business integration ready ahead of the 11th March 2027 deadline, and we'll let you know as soon as it's available so you can migrate fully. If you don't take bookings via Facebook or Instagram, this doesn't apply to you and you can migrate today.
Can I switch back to the legacy widget once I've migrated?
No, once you migrate, you'll be on Widget 2.0. We recommend reviewing your new widget shortly after switching to make sure everything looks and works as expected.
Will my services, availability, and settings carry over?
Yes. Widget 2.0 uses the same booking data and settings as your legacy widget, so there's no need to reconfigure anything. However, please make note of the existing limitations called out above.
How long does the migration take?
The migration itself is instant once triggered - it just takes effect the next time a customer clicks to book, as noted above.
