How to customise your organisation's default branding

Learn how to set default branding that applies across every microsite in your organisation

Two Places to Set Branding

You'll notice there are two branding-related options available from an account's Actions menu: Microsite and Branding.

  • Microsite - controls branding, display, SEO, and link settings for that one account's booking microsite only.

  • Branding - this is what this guide covers. It sets default branding for every microsite under your organisation.

This guide focuses on the organisation-level Microsite settings. For account-level branding, view this guide.

Getting Started

From the Actions menu, select Branding. This opens Organisation Default Branding, where you can configure the default light and dark brand colours every microsite under this organisation uses, unless a microsite overrides them.

Theme Mode

At the top of the Default branding section, two controls govern how the colour theme behaves across your organisation's microsites:

  • Default theme mode - a dropdown to choose Light, Dark, or Auto (match visitor's browser).

  • Let visitors switch themes - a toggle labelled "Visitors can override" that lets visitors manually switch between light and dark themselves, regardless of your default.

To hide dark mode (or light mode) and stop visitors switching between them:

  1. Set Default theme mode to Light or Dark - whichever you want to use everywhere.

  2. Turn Let visitors switch themes off.

With the toggle off, visitors won't see any option to change theme, and every microsite under the organisation will display only in the mode you've chosen. This organisation-level setting takes priority over any theme settings configured on an individual microsite.

Fonts

  • Font URL - paste a stylesheet link for a custom web font, such as a Google Fonts URL.

  • Font family - enter the CSS font-family name that matches the font you've linked above.

These are shared across both the light and dark themes.

Default Banner and Logo

  • Default banner - upload or paste a URL for a wide hero image shown at the top of the microsite. Recommended size is 1600×400px.

  • Default logo - upload or paste a URL for the logo shown in the microsite header. Recommended size is 400×400px.

Favicon and Page Title

  • Favicon - a small square icon (32×32px or larger recommended) shown in the browser tab. Falls back to the Appointedd logo when left unset.

  • Page title suffix - extra text appended after the page title in the browser tab, shown as "{page title} | {suffix}".

Colour Palette

Below the font and image settings, you'll find a live preview of how microsites will look in both Light and Dark themes, followed by tabs to configure each palette separately. This preview is a rough approximation, not the actual site layout.

For each theme (light and dark), you can set:

  • Primary colour - the main brand colour used across headers, buttons, and links.

  • Primary action colour - used specifically for primary call-to-action buttons, like "Book now".

  • Accent colour - a secondary highlight colour used sparingly for emphasis.

  • Surface colour - the background colour of the main content card. Leave blank to use the theme default.

  • Text colour - the main body text colour. Leave blank to use the theme default.

  • Page background - choose a solid colour, a two-colour gradient, or an image for the overall page background. Each option has its own configuration once selected.

Any field left blank falls back to Appointedd's default colours for that theme.

There's also a Generate light from dark (and equivalent) button, which automatically creates one palette based on the other - handy if you only want to configure one theme manually and let the system suggest sensible values for the other.

Per-Theme Overrides

If you want the banner or logo to look different depending on whether the visitor is in light or dark mode, you can set:

  • Light banner override / Light logo override

  • Dark banner override / Dark logo override (on the Dark palette tab)

These are optional - if left blank, microsites use the shared default banner and logo set earlier in the page.

Saving Your Changes

Once you're happy with your settings, select Save changes at the bottom of the page. If you want to discard your edits, select Cancel instead.

Summary

Use the organisation-level Branding button to set default theme, fonts, imagery, and colour palette across every microsite in your organisation - including forcing a single theme and disabling visitor switching.

Remember if you're managing an individual account, keep an eye on the account-level "Microsite" button. Guide here.
