This guide walks through 5 steps on how to register a custom domain for an organisation and connect it to either your microsite or booking widget.
1. Navigate to the organisation's Custom Domains page
Go to Administration → Organisations [or click here].
Search for the organisation by name
In the Actions column for the correct organisation, click Custom Domains.
2. Start adding a new domain
On the Custom Domains page, click + Add domain.
In the Hostname field, enter the domain you want to use (e.g.
appointments.customerdomain.com).Under Routes to, choose what the domain should point to:
Microsite - routes traffic straight to the organisation's microsite.
Booking tool widget - routes traffic to a specific booking widget.
If you select this option, you'll need to enter the correct widget ID. Learn how to find your widget id here.
Click Register domain to save.
3. Copy the CNAME record
Once you click Register domain, it will confirm the domain has been registered and shows the DNS record you need to add:
Type: CNAME
Host: your domain (e.g.
appointments.customerdomain.com)Value (CNAME target): a target address (e.g.
12345.cloudfront.net)
Copy the Value (CNAME target), then click Done to close the dialog.
Note: The DNS changes can take a few minutes to propagate, so if Validate doesn't show progress right away, wait a little and try again.
4. Add the DNS record with your domain provider
Log in to your domain provider's DNS management panel (e.g. GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap).
Add a CNAME record using the Host and Value you copied in step 3.
Save the DNS changes.
Note: DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24-48 hours to propagate, depending on your provider.
5. Validate from the summary list
After clicking Done, you're returned to the Custom Domains summary list, which now shows your new domain. From here you can either:
Click Validate directly in the list to check the DNS once you've added the CNAME record, or
Click View details to open the domain's full detail page and see the progress tracker.
Follow the progress tracker
The domain's detail page shows a setup progress tracker with five stages:
Step | Status | What happens |
1. Domain registered | ✅ Complete automatically | Confirms the domain name has been registered in the system, with the date. |
2. Point your DNS at us | ⏳ Action needed | You must add the CNAME record with your domain provider, then click Validate. |
3. Certificate issued | ⏸ Waiting | An SSL certificate is issued automatically once DNS is correctly pointed. |
4. Certificate attached & deployment finalised | ⏸ Waiting | The certificate is attached and the deployment is finalised. |
5. Live | ⏸ Waiting | Once all previous steps complete, the domain goes live and starts serving traffic. |
To check progress at any point, click Validate now in the top right corner of the detail page. If DNS has propagated correctly, the tracker will progress through Certificate issued and Certificate attached & deployment finalised automatically, and the domain will be marked Live.
Tip: If validation fails, double-check the CNAME record matches exactly what was provided, and allow more time for DNS propagation before trying again.
How to delete the custom domain
If you need to remove a domain:
Go to the domain's detail page.
Scroll to the Delete this custom domain section.
Click Delete.
⚠️ Warning: Deleting a domain immediately stops it from serving traffic and removes it from the organisation. This action cannot be undone.
