Overview
Variable name | How to type the variable | What the variable does |
Booking reschedule enabled | {{booking_reschedule_enabled}} | Will be true or false indicating whether customer rescheduling is enabled for this booking/service |
Booking reschedule URL | {{booking_reschedule_url}} | The URL to the reschedule app allowing the customer to reschedule their booking |
Where can I enable rescheduling?
You can decide whether or not you would like customers to be able to reschedule their booking, on a per service basis.
Go to Setup > Manage services > Edit service > Online booking settings > Allow customers to reschedule ON. If left OFF, the customer will not be able to reschedule their appointment.
As you can see from above, you can also allow customers to choose a different resource (usually this is member of staff) when they reschedule, and, you can set the amount of notice you require for a rescheduled appointment.
How will this display within our communications?
Once you have turned on the reschedule option for a service, it will display a reschedule link in the comms, but you must add in the variables.
Which variable to use?
If you include this variable in the comms - {{booking_reschedule_enabled}} - it will listen if the reschedule toggle has been enabled on the service, and display the reschedule link accordingly, alongside the messaging.
If you include this variable in the comms - {{booking_reschedule_url}} - it will display the reschedule link always. However, if a particular service didn't have the reschedule toggle turned ON, it would still display the reschedule link in the communication, and when clicked, customers would not be able to reschedule.
